Registration for the Winter Class Session Begins Soon

The winter session of pottery classes at the PEI Potters Studio will begin the week of January 9 and the online registration will be open on December 19 at 9 am. Registration will close on Jan. 2 2017 or when classes fill.

Adult beginners classes are offered on Mondays, Tuesdays or Thursdays from 6:30 to 9:30 pm. Classes for children ages 9 to 14 will be held on Saturdays from 10:30-12:30 beginning on January 7. Depending on interest another class will also be held from 1:30 to 3:30. All classes run for a 10 week period.

Perfect for beginners as well as those with previous experience, classes are taught by professional Island potters and are designed to be fun as well as educational. Classes are small in size (a maximum of 8) and relaxed and informal in style. The class covers the basics of clay preparation, wheel-throwing techniques, and glazing and decoration. Hand-building techniques can also be explored depending on interest. A great way to relieve stress and enhance creativity while learning a new skill, participants will have the opportunity to create their own pieces from start to finish.

Registration is first come first serve except for spaces reserved for returning students and those who have received gift certificates. Returning students must reserve by Dec. 11 and gift certificates must be purchased by Dec. 18. For more information, or to purchase a Christmas gift certificate, please contact Barb at 902-218-2493 or bajmacdonald@gmail.com.
